Saturday
This weekend was rather relaxing for us. There wasn’t much planned because we had a few things around the house we knew had to get done. Saturday morning I woke up early to study for a Basic Statistics final I had scheduled for 9:30am. As stated in a previous blog, this online class has not been easy. Don has been a huge help for me and I am so grateful.
I arrived to take the exam and it took me about a hour and a half. I felt good leaving…thinking I did enough to pass the class. That’s all that matters to me at this point saying that I am only 3 classes away from officially being done.
I arrive back home to an empty house. I was shocked but quickly embraced the silence. It’s rare in my household. Don and the girls were out. On their way in they called to say they wanted Hooter’s for lunch. The girls love Hooter’s.
As we headed back home the girls requested milk shakes, so we stopped at Steak n Shake.
We relaxed the remainder of the day.
Sunday
Sunday we slept to about noon. We didn’t have anything planned for the day. Jordan played basketball at the local community center with a neighborhood friend.
That evening we went to a local park, Fort Belle Fontaine Park. We located this park about two years ago while doing the local cake hunt. The property houses two juvenile buildings, one for boys and one for girls. The security is pretty tight. You have to fill out paperwork to enter the park. If you go at dusk you can see plenty of deer out. We even saw a wild turkey. The most relaxing part is the view of the Missouri River. It is beautiful. It doesn’t compare to an ocean view but you have to embrace what you have access to locally. We spent a little time on our way out watching the baby deer. They were so cute and little. It was hard to capture pictures that really told the story. You have to see it for yourself. Here are a few pictures from our day.
This was an overall slow weekend for us and we loved it! We are ramping up for a little something this upcoming weekend. It’s a surprise for the kids so we can’t disclose the details. Stay tuned…
