Yes I’m aware the title of this blog seems a bit awkward and grammatically incorrect but when it’s your blog you can do what you want. It’s a play on March Madness but I’m sure you know that by now. We are all about fun here at Watering Our Seeds. We’ve combed the internet to find all the fun happening in St. Louis in March. The weather has been unexpectedly nice so let’s hope it continues through March. Let’s enjoy some fun as we welcome in Spring. Happy Living!!!
First Fridays in Grand Center – Every first Friday of the month, museums and galleries in Grand Center are free and open until 9:00 pm. Discover the remarkable array of visual arts in St. Louis’ premier neighborhood for culture and entertainment.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade – St. Louis shows off its Irish pride with two St. Patrick’s Day parades. This year, the parades are held on different days so you can attend both! The downtown parade is held on March 11th at noon. It starts at 20th and Market. The second parade will be held in Dogtown on March 17th. The parade starts at 12:30pm at Tamm and Oakland. This should be fun for all.
Owls Prowls – This event continues through March at the World Bird Sanctuary. Meet those amazing birds that exist by moonlight. Owl Prowls offer an exciting opportunity to learn more about the amazing life of owls.
Orchid Show – This annual event continues through March. It is held daily at the Missouri Botanical Garden.
Anniversary of the Dred Scott Decision – This is a free event held at The Old Courthouse in downtown St. Louis. It takes place the first weekend in March. This special program will spotlight enslaved African American Dred Scott’s historic suit for freedom, which he launched in 1846. The case’s lower court trials were heard in 1847 and 1850 at the Old Courthouse.
Nu Soul Revival Featuring Musiq Soulchild and Lyfe Jennings – This event will take place at the Peabody Opera House, Saturday March 25th at 8:00pm.
Builders Home and Garden Show – This event takes place March 9th – 12th at the America’s Center. Get great ideas for improving your home at the annual Builders Home and Garden Show. The show will have more than 1,400 booths covering all areas of remodeling, decorating and gardening. Tickets are $10 for adults and $4 for children.
Schlafly Stout & Oyster Festival – Enjoy this event March 10th and 11th. This is one of the local brewery’s most popular events. Schlafly brings in 50,000 fresh oysters, plus teams of star shuckers to serve them up the right way. There are also three kinds of Schlafly stout to wash it all down.
Hermann Wurstfest – This event is held march 25th through March 27th. Sausage is king in the small German town of Hermann, Missouri. Try the homemade bratwurst, leberwurst or “sommer” sausage while listening to German music and sipping some of Missouri’s best wines. Wurstfest events go on all weekend at the Stone Hill and Hermannhof wineries.
Don’t forget daylight savings time. We will get a little more daylight beginning Sunday, March 12th.
